Betsy Bear's Wardrobe Makeover and Surgery
Betsy Bear's was loved by her first little girl for over 7 years, and had a lot of adventures. So many, that her person's mom put her away for 25 years to keep her safe! Now, Betsy Bear's original little girl is having a baby of her own, and the soon to be grandma wrote to me, asking to rejuvenate Betsy Bear for the next generation. Here are a few of her diagnosis photos:

As you can see, she had had previous repairs, but despite that, her cloth areas (including her inner ears) were falling apart fragile. But her furred areas (hands, feet, head) were all pretty good.
We agreed on a treatment plan which included a spa (important when going to a new generation), recovering her cloth body parts, and preserving some of her original cloth outside and visible.
Betsy Bear's people made travel plans, carefully packing her in a bag and a box for her UPS flight. They warned me before she flew though, "Her clothes continue to unravel with each time she is touched."
She arrived safely and started her spa straightaway. No bubble bath photos, because she was literally in pieces in the bath! But once she was clean, it was time to choose a new fabric for her clothes. Her person opted for a soft pink velour. It would show off her appliques from her old fur, and her surviving lace nicely, and be soft for the baby.
And here is Betsy Bear all better!

You can see we used different parts of her original fabric and old repair fabric for her heart applique and her inner ears.
Betsy Bear flew back to the east coast and her family wrote "She is perfect!"
